4 Reasons Why Battlefront II Might Already Be Better Than Its Original

Posted by Jelle 07/09/2017 Console News,

As tons of us are so eagerly waiting for Star Wars: Battlefront II’s release date, the 17th of November, we would like to take a quick look at the major differences between Battlefront I and II, and why Battlefront II is already said to be a massive improvement (via PSLS).

Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017) will be the fourth major installment in the Battlefront series, the seventh overall, and a sequel to the 2015 reboot, Battlefront I. Even though the Battlefront II isn’t out yet and close to no one knows how the game feels, the public already claims Battlefront I vs. II is a no-brainer. According to them, EA DICE, the developer of the Battlefront series, has listened to the complaints of fans, and Battlefront II is said to have everything that Battlefront I lacked. Although Battlefront I was a massive graphical improvement compared to older Star Wars games and a great base for better games to come, players felt it missed out on a lot. So here are 4 reasons why we think this void of yours will be filled with the release of Battlefront II!

1. A full-on single player campaign

For starters, unlike the Battlefront I, Battlefront II will have a full-on single player campaign, developed by Motive Studios. In Battlefront II, the mission is to command the Inferno Squad, a highly skilled team fighting to save the Empire during its darkest hour. Arguably the best thing about the campaign is that this epic story of revenge and betrayal is said to be canon to the movies. Segments will include being able to play with characters such as Rey and Kylo Ren.

2. Space battles

Secondly, the fans complained about proper space battles being absent in Battlefront I. Sure, there was a bit of dog fighting from time to time, but players didn’t think it felt like how a real Star Wars space battle should feel, mostly due to there being a lack of freedom. In Battlefront II, epic space battles have been confirmed by the reveal of the multiplayer game mode, Starship Assault. This objective-based game mode is said to be a dream come true for the fans, especially to the players who loved the 2005 installment of Battlefront II.

Take a look at this exciting footage by EA of the Starship Assault gameplay!

3. All Star Wars eras covered

Whereas Battlefront I only focused on the original trilogy and a Rogue One DLC, Battlefront II will cover all eras of Star Wars. This opens many exciting doors to play as new characters and participate in new massive battles.

4. Class-based multiplayer

The class-based multiplayer aspect in games such as Battlefield is now also coming to Battlefront II. Fans believe this should help add some much needed depth to the overall game. With many classes to play as, each role has its own objectives within their team and is equipped with relevant gear.

These are the four classes that DICE has revealed so far:

  • OFFICER:

An Officer uses powerful automated weapons and makes sure everyone around him fights most effectively.

  • HEAVY:

Not quite as nimble as other classes, but therefore extra tough, with heavy, powerful artillery

  • ASSAULT:

Perfect for making way through enemy lines. This class is tough and very effective at close-range.

  • SPECIALIST:

Relying on stealth and hiding, a specialist aids the team by eliminating the enemy before even being seen, mostly through booby-traps and long distance kills.

To wrap up, we are sure the new Battlefront is going to top the original in so many ways, and we couldn’t be more excited for the release. Are you convinced too? Pre-Order Star Wars: Battlefront II here!
