8 PS4 Exclusive Games Releasing In 2018

Posted by Jelle 19/10/2017 Console News,

With PS4 games it is never too early to start looking at what’s coming up in the future. We still have quite some time to go in 2017, and loads of exciting games are still being released this year. But nevertheless, we thought we would start taking a look at some of the best titles being released in 2018. And oh boy, it is going to be a big year for PS4 players. Here’s a list of 8 of the most interesting games, to be released in 2018.

  1. DEATH STRANDING

Death Stranding is a surreal, action game developed by Kojima Productions. It is the first title by Hideo Kojima, after the disbandment of Kojima Productions in 2015. Interestingly, famous actors Mads Mikkelsen and Norman Reedus will portray the leading characters in the game, as will director Guillermo del Toro, through motion capture, facial scanning and vocal recording. It is said this game is in a way a follow up of Kojima’s cancelled game called Silent Hills, as Norman Reedus also portrayed the main character in that game. The trailer of the game showcase what could be a very eerie, surreal and disturbing game.

  1. GOD OF WAR

As the eighth installment of the God of War series, the upcoming sequel to 2010’s God of War III, God of War 4 is a third-person action-adventure game in development by Santa Monica Studio. The game is set to be released in the first quarter of 2018. So far, all previous games were based on Greek mythology, however, the next installment will focus on Norse mythology. Leading character Kratos will return, now with his son Atreus. Kratos must act as a mentor and protector to his son, and must master his rage that has driven him for all these years.

  1. DAYS GONE

Days Gone is an upcoming action-adventure survival horror video game in development by SIE Bend Studio. The game is played from a third-person perspective, and players control leading character Deacon St. John. Deacon is a former bounty hunter who now fights his way through zombie-like creatures, 2 years after a global pandemic occurred killing almost all of humanity, and transforming those left into these mindless creatures. Use stealth or more aggressive approaches to fight your way to survival.

  1. SPIDER-MAN

Spider-Man is an upcoming open world, action-adventure video game, based on the Marvel Comics of our beloved superhero Spider-Man. It is currently in developed by Insomniac Games and is set for release in the first or second quarter of 2018. The game will tell a new story, not tied to any film or comic. Players must use Spider-Man’s abilities such as wall-crawling and web slinging to navigate quickly through New York City, and use environmental combat and stealth to take down any enemy in their path.

  1. THE LAST OF US 2

I’m sure we are all well familiar with the original The Last Of Us, so the next installment probably doesn’t need too much explaining. In short, it is an upcoming action-adventure survival horror game developed by Naughty Dog, and will serve as the sequel to 2013’s The Last Of Us. The trailer revealed the return of main characters Ellie and Joel. Players will take control of Ellie, and interestingly in contrast with the original game, which was centered around love, The Last Of Us 2 will mostly be centered around hate.

  1. DREAMS

Being famous for its creativity, game developer Media Molecule is currently working on Dreams. Dreams is an upcoming sandbox video game, focussing mainly on allowing players to create user-generated content, and sharing it with the community. Players use their DualShock 4 or PlayStation Move controllers to control a so called ‘’imp’’, allowing players to interact with the game’s world, such as creating new items and characters and manipulating objects. The imp is customizable, and has the ability to passess characters featured in a dream.

  1. SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS

What people claim to arguable be the most prominent announcement at the PS pre-E3 conference, Shadow Of The Colossus is the updated version of the 2005 classic. Back then, it had jaw dropping graphics for its time, and the trailer for the updated version is equally spectacular. It is unclear if it will be a remake, a remaster or an entirely new game. The game is set to be released mid-2018, and it promises to be a great adventure.

8. DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN

Detroit: Become Human is an upcoming choice-driven, neo-noir thriller game in development by Quantic Dream. The game is revolves around 3 main characters, who are all robots gaining consciousness. There’s Kara, an android that escapes the factory she was made in to explore her consciousness. Next is Connor, an android whose job it is to hunt down deviant androids like Kara, and Markus, who devotes himself to releasing androids from servitude. Depending on the choices that are made by the player, the characters may survive or perish.
