Rocket League is still popular, as developer Psyonix regularly comes with updates and new content and still has a lot of ambition for the future as it is planning something big.
Psyonix stated a plan to launch a beta for a new game mode: Tournament Mode. This beta would only be available for steam players in the end of 2017, but the mode will launch on all platforms in 2018.
The real big news is that developer Psyonix wants to change the game’s party system by making use of the developer’s own PsyNet network which should mean that it does not matter which platform you are on, you can play together. It is still not clear if this is really going to happen, but they are definitely considering it as it is one of the most highly requested features of the game. Making this true would mean a lot to all players of Rocket League.
In a new video, the autumn update was published which includes new arena variants and even a new seasonal arena: Farmstead. Also, a new item was added: Decryptor, which lets you acquire new, rare items during events. The Decryptors can unlock any crate, including the ones during limited-time events. New battle cars, banners and a lot more are added to the game.
