Pokémon fans beware, you’re going to love this! I feel like it has been a while since we’ve seen a proper old school Pokémon game being released. Well, this fan-made 3D standalone game might just be the thing we are waiting for. Set as a 3D Pokémon Red, this game is sure to make fans like me very excited.
Because boy, it looks amazing! The game is developed by fan Felipe Gouvea, and he has been updating his progress on the game on Facebook as he continues to work. Recently, a download to a demo was provided on the Facebook page, and quickly people started trying it out. Sadly, I’m currently typing this on a Macbook, so I haven’t had the chance to try it out myself. So instead, us Mac users can watch the video of the gameplay below.
The most recent post was yesterday, the 9th of October, where Felipe Gouvea listed the minimum requirements to play the game. The requirements aren’t too beefy, so most people should be able to play the game without any issues, when it finally releases. Although, as the game is still in production, these requirements might have to be updated in the future.
As can be seen in the videos that preview Gouvea’s work, the game is still in early developments. Some animations look a little weird, such as Charmander hovering over the ground as he follows the player. But this is understandable, as developments aren’t nearly finished yet. So hopefully, Gouvea will continue to work on these animations and improve the overall gameplay. The demo that’s available doesn’t include an English version, but Gouvea said that a translation is in the works.
So, is this be something you’re trying out when it releases? I know I sure am! Let us know!
