Last weekend, players were able to get an impression of Dragon Ball FighterZ in the closed beta. Now, also an open beta was announced by Namco Bandai Entertainment.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is the next installment of the Dragon Ball franchise by Namco Bandai Entertainment. Namco Bandai started with the Dragon Ball franchise with Budokai Tenkaichi 2 as a merge of Bandai and Namco in 2006. That is now more than 10 years ago and it still lives on.
There have been a lot of Dragon Ball games over the years, although a few were actually considered ‘’good’’. Of course, most of the times it could not compete with games like Street Fighter of Tekken for example.
Dragon Ball FighterZ will probably change this image, because this game could end up being one of the best anime fighters ever as it boasts the depth and the pedigree of a traditional competitive fighting game. In the game, teaming up is one of the major features as you battle 3 on 3 like the Marvel vs. Capcom games.
This past weekend, the closed beta has ended and you could only play it when you were lucky enough. It was not meant to be a demo, but more of a test for the servers and receive gameplay feedback. Now, there is some good news as Namco Bandai actually announced an official open beta, which means everyone can try it out.
The open beta will be starting somewhere in January 2018. In the meantime check out some closed beta gameplay below:
