How To Avoid Microtransactions In Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War

Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War is one of the biggest games of this year and was released yesterday. The fact that the game includes microtransactions has spread a lot of negativity towards the game. So the question is, do you really need the microtransactions?

The game industry is changing over the years, which is normal. Although the increase of microtransactions in full-priced games is something that is not widely accepted across gamers. Why would you wanna pay at least $60 to spend $40 more on ingame content.

Now, most players against these transactions do not want ads or anything that has to do with this pushed in their face every time they start the game. Is there an option to experience the game without any of this?

The answer is yes. Middle-earth: Shadow of War microtransactions can be bypassed By declining the terms of service. To achieve this, you just need to keep a box unchecked at the terms of service screen which most of the people just do not pay attention to and blindly enable this function.

You should follow the following steps in order to avoid the microtransactions:

  • The first time you start the game, you will be taken to a screen with a user agreement license agreement.

  • There is a box that says: ‘’I agree to allow WB Games and Warner Bros. Interactive to provide messages in-game, use your device information for analytics, and transfer your data including your PSN ID or Xbox Live ID or Steam ID to the US’’. You need to uncheck this

  • Then just go straight for the accept button.

  • A message will pop up with: ‘’You will not be able to access any of the online features for Shadow of War until you agree to the data uses described on the prior screen. This includes access to the Market and online gameplay modes. Are you sure you want to continue?’’

  • Click yes and you are set.

Keep in mind that also the online mode will be inaccessible, but it is not needed for a full gaming experience since it is a single player game. The game will still update so there is no need for worries there!

Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War is not available on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
