If you are not yet satisfied with the glances on societal cave-in through the news, you are in luck, because Ubisoft is offering the 2016 game Tom Clancy’s The Division for free this weekend. It’s free from September 14 to 17. Besides that, the game will also see a massive discount, so there couldn’t be a more perfect time to try it out and decide if you love it as much as we did.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is a online-only action role-playing game, set in 2001 when an operation known as ‘’Dark Winter’’ was launched. Dark Winter was meant to test the emergency response to a bioterror attack on the United States, but quickly spiraled out of control. As civil disorder and massive amounts of casualties are predicted, it all came true when a virus was developed, attached to dollar bills. Also known as the ‘’Dollar Flu’’, the virus attached to bank notes was spread quickly due to the high circulation on Black Friday, making it an international pandemic within a day. The gameplay is set in Manhattan, where the outbreak of the virus is the worst.
You play as an agent from the Strategic Homeland Division, and your mission is to secure multiple areas of Manhattan through main and side quests. While doing this, the player has to survive by constantly scavenging for ammo and supplies. An online connection is required, and players can either choose to play alone or in a squad of up to 4 players.
So what’s stopping you? This weekend you can try this dark, sinister game yourself without having to pay a dime. And if you are still not convinced, take a look at this hauntingly beautiful cinematic trailer of The Division:
